Congratulations on your decision to run for public office!
This is the first step in filing online as a candidate. Before you are officially a candidate for public office, your Declaration of Candidacy must be reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Your name will appear on Clark County’s website at clarkvotes.org as a candidate for office once your Declaration of Candidacy is validated and approved.
You may file for office from 9:00 AM on Monday, May 15, 2017, through 4:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2017.
In order to submit a Declaration of Candidacy using this website, the following is required:
- You must be a registered voter in the district for which you are filing; and
- You must have a valid email address.
If your voter registration address is not current, you will need to update it prior to filing online. You may update your address online at http://www.myvote.wa.gov or contact the Elections Department at (360) 397-2345.
Candidate Voters’ Pamphlet Information
The Clark County Auditor’s Office will be publishing a local voters’ pamphlet for the primary and general election. You will receive a separate email notification for submitting your candidate information for publication.
Filing fees are not refundable.
Alternative to Filing Fees
Persons lacking sufficient funds to pay the filing fee may submit a filing fee petition in lieu of the filing fee. Petition forms are available and may be filed in person at the Clark County Elections Office, located at 1408 Franklin Street, Vancouver, WA.
Knowingly providing false information on a Declaration of Candidacy is a class C felony as provided by RCW 29A.84.711.
