Candidate Filing Week May 15 - 19, 2017

Upcoming Candidate Workshop on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Elections Department at 411 N. 5th Street in Shelton. 

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about running for office this year.  Our workshop will include information about: open positions, filing for office, election deadlines, candidate statements, sign regulations and requesting voter information. 
We are fortunate to have Jennifer Hansen, from
the Public Disclosure Commission, joining us to explain candidate reporting requirements and answer any questions.
The workshop will also include a brief overview
of the election process.

Each year, the Elections Department administers up to four federal, state, and local elections for Mason County's 35,000 registered voters.  These elections take place in February, April, August and November.
The Department also registers new voters; maintains existing voter registration records; processes petitions for formations, withdrawals, annexations, and recalls; manages candidate filing; and provides customer service to the public.
