 Congratulations on your decision to run for public office!

This page will accept candidate filings for Stevens County offices only. 

This is the first step in filing as a candidate. Before you are officially recorded as a candidate for public office, your Declaration of Candidacy must be reviewed by the Election Department for accuracy and completeness. Your name will appear on the Stevens County Elections web site at www.votestevenscounty.com as a candidate for office once your Declaration of Candidacy is validated and approved. as a candidate for office once your Declaration of Candidacy is validated and approved.

Stevens County will accept Declarations of Candidacy at this website from Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, May 26, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.  Online Declarations of Candidacy submitted after 4:00 p.m. on May 26, 2017, will not be accepted unless done from a Kiosk in our office.  For questions or assistance please contact the Stevens County Election Department at: (509)-684-7514, toll free: (866)-307-9060 or by email at: elections@co.stevens.wa.us.

To submit a Declaration of Candidacy using this website, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a registered voter in the district for which you are filing
  • You must have a valid email address.

Filing Fees:

Filing fees are calculated as 1% of the annual salary for the position you are filing for. You may use a credit or debit card when filing online. If the filing fee is not paid by using a debit or credit card, the filing fee must be received by the Stevens County Election Department no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, or your Declaration of Candidacy will not be accepted.

Withdrawal of Candidacy:

There is no opportunity to withdraw your candidacy after a special 3-day filing period. Candidate filing fees are not refundable.

Note: Knowingly providing false information on a Declaration of Candidacy is a class C felony as provided by RCW 29A.84.711.
